A Bloor Derby Two Handled Vase
A wonderful Bloor Derby vase in cobalt blue with a lovely hand painted floral bouquet and gilt decoration. Bloor Derby is the epitome of English Ceramics, their pieces are highly collectable today for the quality of the work and decoration. robert Bloor took over the Derby factiory in 1811, and made several changes tothe work. the shapes were larger, the decoration more flamboyand and gilded. rich colors were used and lavish use of gold typified the period. There is some loss of the gilt to the handles, an unusual spot for this, but the colors and glaze is excellent and the piece is vibrant.
