| A fine pair of Chelsea figures C 1770-90 bearing the gold anchor mark. Standing 6" tall they show a nobleman and woman in 18th Century dress and each holding a basket of fruit. Each is wearing a hat and true to the Chelsea potters they could almost be French courtiers at Versailles. The figures are seated on scroll gilt highlited bases which are profusely decorated with flowers. A soft palatte is used, however the figures are ornately decorated in keeping with the period. Clearly a matched pair and highly glazed the gold mark is on the back of each of the figures. The condition is excellent with no damage or chips. | ||
