A Limoges Cabaret Set 19th Century
An antique Limoges Cabaret set last quarter of the 19th Century, consisting of a tray, coffee pot with cover, sugar, creamer and 2 demi tasse cups with saucers. The mark reads France Depose, and has the initials C A in underglaze green which stand for Charles Arenfeldt an important artist working at the Limoges factory at the time. The set was retailed by Louis Kuhne, Geneve and it is in the Bluets pattern.

The tray is 10", the coffee pot with lid is 5 1/2". The condition of all pieces is perfect. The Limoges factory began in 1770 and was sold to King Louis in 1784 which then became a branch of Sevres porcelain.

The decoration is of flowers, violets on a white ground and painted in violet and green, with blue accents. The coffee pot has some gilt decoration to the handle and to the spout in keeping with the period. This set is rare and a real collectors delight. Use it as a breakfast set, or as it was intended, entertaining pour deux.
