A beautifully painted French porcelain cachepot Samson C 1850. although the cachepot has the meissen crossed swords mark with a number at the bottom, it is Samson. Standing 4 4/4" tall and almost 5" across, the cache pot has a white ground highlited with gilt decoration. A lush bouquet hand painted in shades of pink and sepia is at the front while the reverse shows another bouquet in multicolors. It is very well done. There are two lions heads at the sides for added decoration.Samson made copies of porcelains from famous manufacturers, and most of the items they copied were originally made only in soft paste. It was common to use the marks of the famous factories when decorating these wares. Samson is highly collectable and in demand today for the quality of their decoration.

This is a beautiful 15 piece Old Paris dessert set all matching 3rd half of the 19th century. Almost impossible to find these with the coffee pot, sugar, creamer, serving plates altogether, so many of them have been broken up over the years. bouquets of flowers are scattered on a white ground with gilt decoration to the rims and inside the dessert plates. the serving plates have scrolls to each side along with raised decoration. the dessert plates measure 7 1/2" and there are 10. The serving plates measure 9 1/2" and there are 2. The coffee pot, creamer and sugar are bulbous shape, all standing on gilt decorated scrolled feet. The coffee pot stands 11" to the top and is really impressive. the creamer is gilt decorated also and is 8" to the top of the handle. the sugar bowl is one of those large ones, has 2 gilt decorated handles and stands 9 3/4" to the top. The condition of the set is excellent. What a great addition to your fine china and other pieces this makes.
