Covers the spectrum and every area is represented. A good one and a good read. No cover,book dealers, but this book is in excellent condition The pictures, lots of them, are in black and white. Even an article by Geoffrey Godden who always has something new to say.

A 19th century Reform jug with lavander transfers of the word Reform and a portrait of Lord John Russell a leading 19th century temperance advocate. The jug is decorated inside with lavander garlands which repeat on the front and back of the outside. Printed CR monogram. C 1830 A rare and collectable piece of English pottery.

A Highland couple in colorful 19th century costume, this model is often seen as a watch holder, this one is not. The numerals are shown where the watch would be and the time is 9.25. A wonderful example of folk art at its best. The figure stands 14".

A very early creamware plate showing a scalloped border decorated with swags around and in several spots. The center shows a painted transfer with people in 19th century dress. The elders climbing into a processor and emerging as young and beautiful adults. A banner reads Success To Trade. I call this The Rejuvination Plate. Only one slight chip to the border. This one is a treat, and measures 9 1/2".

A pair of apothocary jars with covers measuring 11" tall. Painted with European lakes and lombardy trees, they are also decorated in rich apple green with flowers. French, they are late 19th century and have gilded tops and sides. A very beautiful pair of accent pieces.

Another in this famous temperance series the plate measures 7 3/4' and the painted transfer shows a family grieving, the transfer reads "Cold misery and want destroy their youngest child they console themselves with the bottle"
